Willbrook Plantation Golf Club

This review is based on play from the Regular Mens Tees.

Hole # 1: Championship Tees - 428 - Mens Tees - 400

Willbrook Plantations starts off with a very pretty, slight dogleg from left to right. The Oatland Creek fronts the fairway and must be crossed. The Oatland creek and its marsh guards the entire lenght of the left side of this hole. The tee shot must be in the middle of this fairway. Big oak trees guard the left and right side of this fairway. A good drive will leave a medium iron into a green protected by a single bunker in the left rear.

Hole # 2: Championship Tees - 394 - Mens Tees - 360

Now, the Oatland creek guards the entire right hand side of the second fariway. Two bunkers are on the left hand side. A good drive into the fairway will leave a short iron into this green with a bunker on the left front and a bunker on the right side.

Hole # 3: Championship Tees - 553 - Mens Tees - 503

The left side of the fairway is best, on this par five. The best tee shot challenges a small stand of oak trees on the left. Two bunkers are located on the right side to catch any wayward shots. The lay up, missing a small pond and three bunkers on the right, Leaves a short pitch to a green guarded by a single bunker on the left front. You should expect to have a good birdie try, here.

Hole # 4: Championship Tees - 175 - Mens Tees - 155

The tee shot will be a medium iron into a wide, but narrow green, protected by a single large bunker on the left front. The green is flat and should offer a good birdie try.

Hole # 5: Championship Tees - 383 - Mens Tees - 369

A large lake guards the right hand side of this hole. The lake also cuts the fairway short of the green. Long hitters may have to lay up on this tee shot. A large oak tree and a single bunker guards the left hand side. A good tee shot leaves a medium iron into an elevated green.

Hole # 6: Championship Tees - 145 - Mens Tees - 127

The island green on this shrot par three is protected on the left hand side by a single bunker. Another flat green offering a birdie oppportunity.

Hole # 7: Championship Tees - 355 - Mens Tees - 314

A very short par four with a very wide fairway, go for your long drive of the day. The only fairway hazard is a small bunker on the right. A large bunker guards the left side of the green. A good drive will leave a short iron into a flat green Another birdie try.

Hole # 8: Championship Tees - 519 - Mens Tees - 501

A strong tee shot over the large oak trees on the right, finishing in the fairway will leave a chance to reach this par five in two shots. A tee shot two far to the left will be blocked by large oak trees guarding this side of the fairway. Can' go for the green? Two bunkers on the right and a large oak tree of the left, protect the lay up zone of this fairway. A good lay up in the fairway will leave a short pitch into a raised green protected by a lone bunker on the right rear.

Hole # 9: Championship Tees - 390 - Mens Tees - 355

One of the tougher tee shot on Willbrook Plantation. Large Oak trees line the entire right hand side of this hole. A single bunker guards the left side. A good tee shot will leave a short iron into a green that is higher in the rear than the front. Look for a birdie to end the nine.

Front Nine: Championship Tees - 3342 - Mens Tees - 3111 {Par 36}

Hole # 10: Championship Tees - 379 - Mens Tees - 356

Large oak trees line both side of this hole, so a drive into the fairway is a must. Favor the left side of the fairway, since the trees up near the green will block any shot from the right side of the fairway. The green is elevaed with two bunkers on the left and one on the right. The front of the green is much lower than the back. This hole seems to play longer than the yardage says.

Hole # 11: Championship Tees - 336 - Mens Tees - 329

This is a very shot hole. Any drive that avoids the three bunkers on the left side of the fairway, should leave a short pitch into an elevated green. The green is guarded by two bunkers one on the front left and one on the front right. A lake is located on the right side of this hole but, should not come into play. You should be looking for a birdie on this hole.

Hole # 12: Championship Tees - 199 - Mens Tees - 180

The longest of Willbrook Plantation's par threes, requires a long iron played into a green guarded by a bunker on the right and one on the back left. A par on this hole is a very good score. A waste area add a look to this hole but should not come into play.

Hole # 13: Championship Tees - 363 - Mens Tees - 342

A wide fairway allows you to drive for show on this hole. Miss the bunker on the right side of the fairwayand you will have a short iron into the green protected on the right side and left front by bunkers. This is another birdie hole.

Hole # 14: Championship Tees - 419 - Mens Tees - 380

This wide fairway is lined by a lake on the left that wraps around behind the green. There are no bunkers on this hole, but several small oak trees on the right makes a drive to the left side of the fairway the best angle into the green. A long to medium iron will be needed to reach the green.

Hole # 15: Championship Tees - 572 - Mens Tees - 538

The Longest hole at Willbrook Plantation is also the most difficult. The corner of a dogleg from right to left is created by a bunker and tall pine tree. The best tee shot is a strong draw down the center of the fairway. You must be in the fairway with this tee shot. A missed tee shot will require a lay up short of the wetlands that cross the fairway. This will leave an approach shot of over 200 yards. A good tee shot allows you to play a second shot of 200 yards to the right of two fairway bunkers on the left. This will leave a short pitch in a green with bunkers on the front right and left. A birdie is possible, but a par is an acceptable score.

Hole # 16: Championship Tees - 404 - Mens Tees - 381

You will find another wide fairway here, one guarded by two bunkers on the left and a large oak tree on the right. A small lake and waste area are on left side near the green, but should not be a factor. A good drive will leave a medium iron into an elevated green with a bunker on the front right.

Hole # 17: Championship Tees - 173 - Mens Tees - 160

A large oak tree and two bunkers protect the left side of this green. A high tee shot played, with a medium iron into this green will make a par likely.

Hole # 18: Championship Tees - 535 - Mens Tees - 515

Willbrook Plantation saved the best until last. This is a very strong par five. Large oak trees line both side of this hole. Serveral of them jutt out into the fairway just to keep you on your toes. A fairway bunker is at the end of the fairway where it doglegs from left to right. A good tee shot in the fairway will leave a lay up of 200 yards. Favor the right side of the fairway to avioded getting block out by one of the large oak trees. This will leave a short pitch into a green guarded by a bunker on the front right. A large bunker covering the entire width of the rear of this green, will gobble up any shot hit too strongly. A birdie will surely put a smile on your face.

Back Nine: Championship Tees - 3380 - Mens Tees - 3181 {Par 36}

Total: Championship Tees - 6722 - Mens Tees - 6292 {Par 72}
