The Thistle Golf Club
The instructions to the designer Tim Cates was to create a golf course that is ferocious to the eye, yet fair to the average golfer. The results is taht and more! The Thistle Golf Club offers Myrtle Bach golfers a new reason to head for the border, even if it's just for the day. Only minutes north of the State line in Sunset Beach
near the Calabash, North Caolina, the new Thistle Golf Club offers one of the most beautiful and challenging 27-hole layouts on the Grand Strand. Thistle takes its name from an ancient Scottish golf society dating back to the early 1800's, and the current course layout posses a distinct Scottish links feel, with wind-swept fairways, large bentgrass greens and surrounding hillsides covered in heather and wild flowers. At The Thistle Golf Club, our attention to detail is evident throughout - from the design and conditioning of the course to the attentive service you receive the moment you arrive. The tee times are spaced twelve minutes apart to establish a comfortable pace for each group. The greens are L-93 bent grass.
